Unnatural Selection?
Luke 12:33
"Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth...
Just about every public school textbook once included the example of the peppered moth. The moth is used as a prime example of natural selection. Supposedly, as the trees in the English countryside...

Christmas and the Virgin Birth

THERE WASN'T ANY INN

Author:
Gordon Mellish

At the time of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, Rome ruled most of the world. This required lots of men and lots of money and salt. Soldiers were often paid with salt. Octavian was the king of Rome at that time, and he was given the title of Augustus as an honor. Caesar, Kaiser and Khan all mean king, so we know him as Caesar Augustus. And so, to get money to pay his soldiers, he taxed everyone in his empire. To ensure complete compliance and have good records, he ordered all Jews to register in their tribal areas.

The Christmas story is too well known! Even unbelievers can probably outline this great event's occurrences. Of course, we may think that is what we are to be accomplishing, spreading the Good News of God's Son come to live with us. That is in fact the goal we have before us, to reach all mankind with God's Word and salvation available in His Son Jesus Christ.

We would be surprised if we went out in our yards in summer or fall and took the time to really examine what is happening in it. How many kinds of plants are growing, what types of insects are around, if there are even any subterranean creatures working literally under our feet. Looking at familiar texts of the Bible from new viewpoints is very helpful to opening our eyes also.

Sin -An Acquired Characteristic Which Is Inherited

Prepared by Pastor Walter Lang, based upon Doorway Paper No, 15 Arthur C. Custance, excerpted and edited from Bible-Science Newsletter Copyright December 1969 Creation Moments, Inc. PO Box 260, Zimmerman, MN 55398. 800-422-4253 www.creationmoments.com

To show the necessity for the supernatural virgin birth of our Savior, Custance makes three points in his treatise:

(1) Adam and Eve were created immortal. They were not made to die.

Nature and Nature's God

Author:
Herman Schaars

An evergreen tree symbolizes Christmas in different ways. The evergreen of the tree refers to everlasting life. God gave His beloved Son to give us everlasting life. The steeple-like crown of the tree points to heaven. "Heaven is my home." The lights on the tree are a reminder that Jesus is the Light of the World. "In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men." John 1:4.
