"For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light."
The usual theories for the origin of life have the first genetic material assembling itself by chance in a hot setting. Some have suggested that this may have happened in an undersea thermal vent or...
Addressing The Gospel To The Twenty-First Century
Note: Creation Moments exists to provide Biblically sound materials to the Church in the area of Bible and science relationships. This Bible study may be reproduced for group use.
1.The Gospel of salvation from sin, death and the devil by grace through faith in the atoning work of Jesus Christ for us has been revealed from heaven and does not change. Yet, when that Gospel is delivered to men, it must be brought to them in a way they can understand it.
(Editor's note: Before we landed on the moon, those who believe that the Earth and moon are billions of years old feared that the moon was covered with deep dust that might swallow a spacecraft. They based this fear on measured rates of dust accumulation in our area of space. If dust had been accumulating at measured rates for billions of years, we could have a problem when we tried to land.
A note on calendar dates. The earliest times for which we have archaeological and historical evidences are those of Babylon and its empire. The Babylonians, or an earlier civilization, noted that the Sun took 360 days to complete its cycle; this has always been known as the “solar year” but today we view this as the time taken for the Earth to orbit the Sun. The Babylonians divided this orbit, the circle, into 360 degrees, one for each day.
Textbooks often depict our "evolutionary ancestors" as brutish, savage apemen who dwelled in caves. Every couple of years the scientific world is excited by the discovery of fossil remains of a supposed ancestor of man. Each new discovery is, in its turn, debunked: proven to be modern man or some form of ape. But the public impression of the "caveman" as man's ancestor remains, unshaken by the discrediting of the supposed proofs.
1. What can the creationist make of these cavemen?
Is it possible to describe them in some other way than as the evolutionary precursor to man?
Speaking of magnetic fields, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and "geoengineering" brings us to an interesting ongoing topic of creationist endeavors--describing conditions of the world before it was radically changed by the flood of Noah.
The earth has survived some very catastrophic change, and even evolutionists admit that at different times in earth's history climate conditions were quite different from what they are today.

An evergreen tree symbolizes Christmas in different ways. The evergreen of the tree refers to everlasting life. God gave His beloved Son to give us everlasting life. The steeple-like crown of the tree points to heaven. "Heaven is my home." The lights on the tree are a reminder that Jesus is the Light of the World. "In Him was life; and the life was the Light of men." John 1:4.
Modern sociology, which is based on evolution, cannot be "cleaned up" and made Christian. The very foundation of modern sociology is corrupt and anti-Christian. Sociologists hope to reach their goals by rewriting history and manipulating people into thinking they are right. When people see this, they realize that something is wrong. But the problem lies at the very foundations of sociology. Since it is based on evolution, sociology has no idea of the source or purposes of human practices and beliefs.
Creationists are often told that while their concern for the Bible's teaching on creation is admirable, such a concern has little to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In reality, Scripture can be compared to Christ's robe, which was woven of one strand. Nothing could be cut out of it without the entire robe unraveling. And nothing can be cut out of Scripture or ignored without doing damage to the biblical message of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Evolution, whether theistic or atheistic, requires the principles by which we have come into existence to be within ourselves. While the atheist believes that we can be explained on completely materialistic principles, the theistic evolutionist adds God at points in the process that don't seem explainable by strictly materialistic means. But the theistic evolutionist still leaves the initial evolution of the ape-like creature from which we supposedly came to internal material principles.
The Bible clearly teaches Creation. Only those who desire to distort and destroy the Scriptures would say otherwise. Many wonder why there is a question for any Christian whether to believe evolution or creation. They often ask the question in the title of this Bible study, "Can a Christian be an evolutionist" Unless we are willing to usurp God's position and become the Judge of Man, we must acknowledge that there are professing Christians who also believe the myth of evolution.
People find many different reasons for opposing creationism. Some are simply ignorant of the scientific and Biblical points that support the creationist worldview. Very often people really believe that evolution has been proven as fact.
Could life have formed in the "primordial soup" billions of years ago? Evolutionists hoped that amino acids would produce life. But author Thomas Heinze reveals the facts evolutionists won't tell you – that the...
