Researchers Find a Hidden Cost to the Internet
Proverbs 18:24
"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."
Have you been on the internet lately? If so, it may be costing you more than you think. That's the suggestion of a study done by researchers from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The study...

Noah's Ark

Was Noah's Flood Global or Local?

Noah mosaicThe most detailed account of Noah's Flood is given in the Book of Genesis. Here there seems little doubt that the Flood had to be truly global and not just "global" in the minds of one minor tribe of people:

More About Dinosaurs

Tylosaurus specimen1. What did dinosaurs look like? The great French "father of paleontology," Georges Cuvier (1769-1832), established the method of comparative anatomy. This method depends upon knowing the relationship between living creatures and their skeletons. Then, by similar relationships, extinct creatures can be reasonably reconstructed from their fossil (skeletal) remains.

The Pre-Flood World, Part 1

1. The name Genesis that we apply to the first book of the Bible has been adopted from the Greek word GENESIS meaning "beginnings." The Jews call this book BERESHITH which is the first Hebrew word of this book and means "In beginning." Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. There is a logical order here: Beginning (time), heavens (space) and earth (matter). The Big Bang Theory has reversed this order. Note that "the heavens" is plural.

1. Following the Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden, God pronounced the curse, firstly as it would affect the serpent, then Eve, then Adam. Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you [the serpent] and the woman, and between your seed [serpent's seed] and her seed [Jesus]; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel. When the sainted Jerome (A.D.347-419) translated the Hebrew to produce the Latin Vulgate Bible there was a slip of one letter in the Latin pronoun ipse (his) to ipsa (her).

Scientific Racism

Adolf Hitler1. Human pride is the usual cause of racial prejudice and every ethnic group has been guilty of believing themselves to be somehow superior to all others: Christians of the past have been no exception. Modern genetics has well established the fact that all colors of the human race will have derived from a single mating pair; the color of that pair would have been brown and, in fact, that is the predominant color of the human race today.

The Genesis Flood

1. Was the Genesis Flood global in extent or just local? Genesis chapters six to eight give a detailed account of a devastating flood brought about by God as a judgment upon Man. Genesis 7:18-24 leaves no doubt that this Flood was global: all the highest hills were covered, all the creatures on the dry land died and only Noah and his family and representatives of all animal life survived the ordeal. Upon leaving the Ark, 376 days later, God gave Noah a covenant promise to never again destroy the earth by a flood (Gen. 9:11).

Those Fascinating Dinosaurs

Ica stone depicting dinosaursDinosaurs hold a particular fascination for many people, particularly children, and the great beasts have come to exemplify a pre-historic Reptile Age of 60 million years ago. These vast ages are essential for the theory of evolution and any evidence that suggests that some of those creatures from the Age of Reptiles are still alive puts into question the millions of years of their supposed extinction.

Noah's Three Sons

1. Genesis 6:9 states that Noah was "perfect in his generations." It has been suggested this means that Noah and his family [the ninth generation after Adam] were the few left on Earth who were genetically uncontaminated by the B’NAI HA’ELOHIM [sons of God, Genesis 6:2]. Noah’s family could  thus be used by God to re-build the human family and provide a pure heritage for the Messiah. God warned Adam that if he ate the forbidden fruit “on that day you will surely die” [Gen. 2:17] but as God’s “day” is as a 1000 years [2 Peter 3:8] Adam died at 930 years.

The Pre-Flood World, Parts 1 & 2

1. The Fall of man took place in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had been created in perfection in a perfect world; they were physically perfect and quickly becoming full of God's wisdom. There were three kinds of tree in the Garden: trees to provide food, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and the Tree of Life. Satan tempted Eve where she was most vunerable: pride. He offered the opportunity for Adam and Eve to obtain wisdom without having to go to God each time; they would thus be independant.

Compromise and the Faith

Ian Taylor1. The discovery of the colored peoples by the Caucasian Christian West in the 16th century caused some to doubt that the Genesis Flood had been universal since the only family on the Ark were surely Caucasion! Later, at the time of the Industrial Revolution and during the search for coal and minerals, it was realized that rocks appeared in layers or stratum, each of different composition from those layers above and below.
