Young Earth Creationism

The Appearance of Age

A woodworker friend of mine who makes furniture for a living showed me his latest project – a table that needs to look similar to a pair of antique chairs. While handing me a scrap of the lumber he is using, he described some of the techniques he uses to give new lumber the appearance of age. When his work is done, his brand new table will look just like it could have been in use 400 years ago.

Do Christians Need to Believe in a Young Earth?

On page 24 of his book The Bible, Rocks and Time, Davis Young writes: “… Christians who believe that the earth is extremely old have interpreted the creation account of Genesis One in a variety of alternative ways, and they also maintain that Genesis does not necessarily require belief that the flood of Noah cover the entire globe.

Making Sense of Light from Distant Stars

Andromeda Galaxy
"What does Scripture tell us about the distance of galaxies and the time needed for light to travel between galaxies? Light needs millions of years to travel from a galaxy like Andromeda to the Earth, doesn't it?"
Scripture does not directly speak to the issue of light traveling from distant stars and galaxies.

The Sixty-Seventh Book of the Bible

“I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book…” (Revelation 22:18)

As we all know, there are 66 books in the Bible – no more, no less. And yet, from the way that many people interpret the first chapter of Genesis, it appears that they have added a sixty-seventh book to the Bible – a book that guides them in their study of the other 66 books of the Bible.

The name of that sixty-seventh book is the philosophy of naturalism, so-called “science.”
