"By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent."
Australia has many unique creatures that people find fascinating. One example is the floodplain death adder and its habit of eating dangerous frogs.
The marbled frog has a defense that could get the...
Belief in biblical creation was opposed a week ago (February 12-14) by the 854 congregations in 50 states, the District of Columbia and 12 countries that celebrated "Evolution Weekend" - an annual event organized by The Clergy Letter Project.
In this age of the Internet, most people turn to Wikipedia for information. We use it ourselves from time to time. However, we'd like to emphasize that this online encyclopedia should be used with extreme caution, especially when looking up any topic touching on politics, religion or worldviews.
Imagine for a moment that you're a student who wants to watch a video about God creating the heavens and the earth. You go to YouTube, enter the search term "creationism" and click the SEARCH button.
As you look at the first page of results, you discover that ALL of the videos are attacks on creationism. Apparently, atheists and Darwinists are busy with their evangelistic efforts. And they're effective, judging from the fact that some of their videos have been viewed by over a million people. You see nearly 40 different videos under the headings "Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism" and "Evidence for Evolution and Against Creationism." You also find a multi-part series titled "Why Do People Laugh at Creationists?" as well as videos with such titles as "Creationist Junk Debunked." Where are the creationism videos?
So you enter a new search term: "anti-evolution." Do you find creationism videos there? Nope.
Recently a friend of Creation Moments wisely observed: "Sadly, most Christians are not interested in the creation vs. evolution issue. Atheists, on the other hand, know what is at stake, so they invest a lot of time in defending their religion."
Are the people in your church aware that evolution is, in fact, a "religion" that promotes atheism? If not, perhaps God is calling on YOU to wake them up to its dangers. After all, you know what is at stake, and the Lord may be asking you to sound the alarm.
We find it very interesting that President Obama's inaugural address today included the words: "All men are equal." Notice anything missing? Obviously he was quoting the best-known phrase in any of America's political documents, the Declaration of Independence, in which Thomas Jefferson penned these immortal words: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that a
For evolutionists, 2009 is a special year of celebration. Not only does 2009 mark the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, it represents the 150th anniversary of Darwin's On the Origin of Species. It's important to remember, though, that this is not just about science.
If you've ever wished you could do something personally to join the battle against atheistic evolution, our new "Creation Action Moments" e-mail is here to help! Each week we'll give you one action item that's easy to do and takes only a minute or two.
In a Creation Moments program called "Gecko Tape," we talked about the amazing ability of the gecko to walk up walls and across the ceiling. The gecko can do this because it has tiny hairs, called setae, on its feet. These hairs are so tiny that they actually grip the molecules in the surface of the material upon which the gecko is walking. We also noted that researchers were trying to create a similar type of glue in the lab but had failed. Well, that changed last Thursday (October 9) when researchers reported they had successfully developed a new type of dry glue designed to mimic gecko feet.
Many people - especially those who believe in creation - resist watching science shows on PBS and the Discovery Channel, because these programs are usually saturated with unscientific claims favoring evolution. However, even Darwinian soapboxes like Nova can be worth watching, just as long as you do so with a discerning eye.
The first thing you have to do is separate the program's true science from its unfounded Darwinian musings. For example, when the narrator describes a creature as roaming the earth "60 million years ago," know that you have now left the world of science and are right in the heart of The Darwinist Zone. Such claims are pure conjecture, nothing more.
Come November, which presidential candidate will you vote for? While the candidates' views on many issues will influence your decision, we hope that one of these issues is their view regarding origins and the teaching of evolution in public schools.
Speaking at the Stanford commencement last week was Oprah Winfrey – a superstar with so much fame and power, she’s known simply by her first name. When the senior class presidents first heard that Oprah was selected to speak, they said: “We look forward to hearing her thoughts about meeting life's challenges and making a difference in the world.”
And what thoughts did she share?
As scientists search for water and evidence of life on Mars, other scientists are plumbing the depths of the ocean to get to the bottom of the questions: how and where did life begin? According to a paper being published today in Nature, the seafloor – once considered to be a barren plain – is teeming with microbial life, leading scientists to believe that this may be where life first began.
