Behavioral researchers define teaching very specifically. First, of course, a teacher must have pupils. Then the teacher must be less efficient in doing whatever he is doing than he normally would be...

Evolution-Creation: Where Do Obama and McCain Stand?

Come November, which presidential candidate will you vote for? While the candidates' views on many issues will influence your decision, we hope that one of these issues is their view regarding origins and the teaching of evolution in public schools.
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama told the York Daily Record his stance on the teaching of evolution: "I'm a Christian, and I believe in parents being able to provide children with religious instruction without interference from the state. But I also believe our schools are there to teach worldly knowledge and science. I believe in evolution, and I believe there's a difference between science and faith. That doesn't make faith any less important than science. It just means they're two different things. And I think it's a mistake to try to cloud the teaching of science with theories that frankly don't hold up to scientific inquiry." (Emphasis added)
Republican presidential candidate John McCain takes a somewhat different approach. At a 2007 debate at St. Anselm College, McCain was asked if creationism should be taught alongside evolution in the nation's schools. His response: "No, I believe that's up to the school districts. But I think that every American should be exposed to all theories. There's no doubt in my mind that the hand of God was in what we are today. And I do believe that we are unique, and I believe that God loves us. But I also believe that all of our children in school can be taught different views on different issues. I leave the curricula up to the school boards." (Emphasis added)

And we leave your choice of candidate up to you.
