When Francis Crick considered the idea that life was seeded on this planet by panspermwashy was not a belief in the sense you are proposing, which would put it on a par with religious beliefs, it was mere speculation. I find it somewhat disturbing that you suggest otherwise when the man is no longer alive to either explain or defend his position on this matter.
