This Carbon-14 Discovery Is a Gem
Job 28:16
"It [wisdom] cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire."
Because half of the radioactive carbon-14 in anything decays to nonradioactive material in 5,730 years, things that are supposedly millions of years old cannot possibly have any. At least that's what...

Grand Canyon, Grand Deception

Today's guest blogger is Dick Rothermel, a long-time friend of Creation Moments who writes in response to a Creation Moment program that aired last week. Dick, the floor is yours …

When scientists remove the blinders of evolution and millions of years, they find evidence staring us all in the face that fully corroborates the biblical record. It's always been there, but people still try to suppress it. Witness the veteran Grand Canyon guide who rejected evolution and wrote a book showing that the Canyon very likely formed in a short period of time. Tom Vail's book – when it was first published – was banned in Grand Canyon bookstores.

Other scientists have shown that the Grand Canyon very likely formed rapidly as an immense lake – dubbed "Grand Lake" – burst its (ice) dams when the earth warmed and melted the glacial ice. According to this plausible theory, the waters behind the ice dam – as large as the Great Lakes – burst forth catastrophically and dug the canyon rapidly. Similar phenomena were observed in the aftermath of the Mount St. Helens catastrophe in the early 1980s. The surrounding area has become a laboratory for studying earth history.

It is no coincidence that the modern creationist movement was launched by Dr. Henry Morris, a hydraulic engineer who published The Genesis Flood. His professional training taught him just how powerful H2O is!

The Apostle Peter predicted that scoffers would come in the last days, scoffing and deliberately ignoring the fact that the earth was formed out of water, by means of water, and that the earth was deluged in the great Global Flood of Noah's day (2 Peter, chapter 3).

We are continually astonished at the utter devastation caused by unstoppable, rushing floodwaters in news reports. Multiply those effects by an incredible amount of rushing water in the great Flood and its earth-changing aftermath, and you can see how the notion of millions of years of slow erosion just doesn't hold water!

Note from Creation Moments: Tom Vail's book – Grand Canyon – a Different View – is available from the Creation Moments online bookstore. This beautiful book includes contributions from more than 20 well-known creationist authors.
