The Kaibab Plateau challenges the assumption that the canyon was carved slowly by the river. The Colorado River flows southward into northern Arizona along the east side of the Kaibab Plateau. Why would it suddenly turn right and flow through the high Kaibab Plateau? A river isn't going to flow uphill.

There are plenty of theories that try to explain this away — all untestable, of course. Basically, scientists who are interested in misinterpreting data to support evolutionism are loath to admit they are wrong and will come up with any number of suppositions to avoid the truth. But evidence shows a catastrophic event formed the canyon, not slow erosion.
