I heard a talk from Rick Oliver at the Red River Bible and Prophecy Conference 2009. He is now a creation scientist and was at Mount St. Helens when it erupted. That event is what convinced him that the Grand Canyon was formed quickly, in similar fashion. He likened the rapid changes that he witnessed at Mount St. Helens to how the Grand Canyon was formed as a result of the flood. Being at Mount St. Helens and witnessing that catastrophic disaster is what convinced him finally that evolution simply cannot be, and that the earth is young and that God is real. I agree.
