Science and religion aren't incompatible.

I do believe in god, and I believe he gave me a brain for something... So what do my brain conclude? That I should follow the science of 2000th years ago, when peoples had no clues on what a fossil was (the Greeks thought tertiary megafauna fossils were giant human bones) or to rely on what I see and understand?

One thing that puzzle me is why people who believe in literal interpretation of the bible are so upset by the work of palaeontologists? It's not like God was threatened!
