Dennis,
You speak from ignorance concerning the Bible. While the Bible is not intended to be a book on science, when it does mention scientific things it is 100% accurate. I'll give you one example (of which there are many). In the book of Job, when God addressed Job, He asked Job if he could loose the belt of Orion or bind the Pleiades. Only recently have astronomers discovered that the constellation Pleiades is gravitationally bound while the stars in Orion's belt are indeed flying apart.
