Yes, modern man is hooked on a feeling that he's superior to God's laws of righteousness.

He might as well just go out and build another Tower of Babel to challenge the power of heaven. Oh ... wait a minute ... that didn't work out so well for mankind, did it? But let's ignore that and go ahead and do it again, because we never learned that it doesn't pay to defy God. We're doing something new and significantly scientific this time. It won't turn out that God really is superior to humans this time ... because this time we're denying God even exists. That's a new and improved version, sure to work, right?
