If Oprah really had experienced God, she would know he's not a feeling, but a reality. What God tells you to do may not always agree with how you "feel," either. That's because he's a righteous God and people are wicked. If people go by their feelings, they pretty much perpetrate the evil that is in their own heart. But if you go by what God says, you will steer clear of evil. It's a lot easier in the long-run to listen to God, too, than go by your own feelings. Sure, in the short-term you don't get to do every selfish and stupid thing you want. But in the long-run, you will have run a race worth winning, with honor and faithfulness.

Paul said: "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize."
