Here at Creation Moments, whenever we view breathtaking photos from the Hubble Space Telescope, we are filled with awe and praise for the God who created the universe. Atheists, however, can look at the very same photos and sing praises, not to the Creator but to the things He created. Here’s just one example of what we’re talking about:
“How can someone inspect the grandeur of the universe, the complexity that arises explosively out of simplicity and STILL believe in a divine creator? We live in an age where we have access to these beautiful images; we should be proud to shrug off our past superstitions and embrace the beauty of science and atheism. Atheism isn’t a dirty word, it’s a promotion of our species out of the dark, ghost-haunted world. We know now, for the first time in our existence, that there’s no need for the God hypothesis!” [posted June 9 at the Hubble Space Telescope iGoogle site]
While we are saddened to read things like this, we are not surprised. After all, Paul wrote about this worldview two thousand years ago: “For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.” (Romans 1:25)
So even when an atheist posts a message like this on the Internet, all he’s doing is inadvertently underscoring the truths found in the pages of Scripture.

“At what chapter in the book of Genesis does the Bible begin to be true?”
This is a question we find ourselves repeating more and more often as we participate in discussions on Facebook and other social media websites. Obviously, we’re not asking atheists this question; after all, they don’t believe the Bible is true at any point. We are asking this question to Christians of various denominations who attack us for our belief in a literal six-day creation and the global flood of Noah’s time.
Many of these people appear to have a high regard for the Bible, sprinkling Bible verses into their online postings. They even seem to accept the miracles recorded in the pages of Scripture - especially the miracles recorded in the New Testament. But when it comes to the creation account given in the first chapters of the Bible - and the worldwide flood just a few chapters later - they wriggle and squirm and try to explain it away.
Such is the deadly stranglehold of Darwinism on the modern mind - even on the minds of Christians. Many people have been so indoctrinated with evolutionary dogma all their lives, they have a difficult time discarding it after they become Christians. Sadly, some of them end up as “theistic evolutionists” - believing that God created through the means of evolution.
On the positive side, however, some of these people are able to accept as true the early chapters of Genesis when they are shown the inconsistency of their position. So the next time you run into one of these people - either online, in the workplace or even in your church - challenge them to think about their position. Ask the question at the beginning of this blog posting or this one: “If you don’t believe what the Bible says about how we got here, how can you believe what it says about where we’re going?”

Anyone who has seen the film Jurassic Park knows that evolutionists have been telling us that modern-day birds are descended from dinosaurs. Well, it looks like the scientists have recently changed their mind.
According to an article on the ScienceDaily website dated June 9, researchers at Oregon State University have made a fundamental new discovery about how birds breathe and have a lung capacity that allows for flight - and the finding means it’s unlikely that birds descended from any known theropod dinosaurs.
The article goes on to report that the conclusions add to other evolving evidence that may finally force many paleontologists to reconsider their long-held belief that modern birds are the direct descendants of ancient, meat-eating dinosaurs, OSU researchers say. Read the rest of this entry »

There’s a slick new website on the web that Creation Moments feels is far more dangerous than a deadly spider’s web. The BioLogos Foundation’s website is well done and appealing to the eye. But behind its good looks lurks an insidious philosophy that masquerades as biblical truth. In a word, the website promotes theistic evolution, one of the most dangerous forms of Darwinism.
Darwinism’s stepchild - theistic evolution - is nothing more than Darwinism wearing fancy church-goin’ clothes. Theistic evolution allows its adherents to straddle the fence by attending church on Sunday while believing that the Bible is not true. Though it may sound godly, theistic evolution does not differ in any significant way from classical Darwinism or neo-Darwinism.
Why is theistic evolution so great a threat? Read the rest of this entry »

Imagine for a moment that you’re a student who wants to watch a video about God creating the heavens and the earth. You go to YouTube, enter the search term “creationism” and click the SEARCH button.
As you look at the first page of results, you discover that ALL of the videos are attacks on creationism. Apparently, atheists and Darwinists are busy with their evangelistic efforts. And they’re effective, judging from the fact that some of their videos have been viewed by over a million people. You see nearly 40 different videos under the headings “Foundational Falsehoods of Creationism” and “Evidence for Evolution and Against Creationism.” You also find a multi-part series titled “Why Do People Laugh at Creationists?” as well as videos with such titles as “Creationist Junk Debunked.” Where are the creationism videos?
So you enter a new search term: “anti-evolution.” Do you find creationism videos there? Nope. Read the rest of this entry »

A story in the March 9 issue of USA Today caught our eye. Under the headline “Scientists explain why they plagiarize,” the article reported on a study in the current issue of Science that found that 28% of those who were caught red-handed denied plagiarism, 35% admitting wrongdoing and expressed remorse, and 22% said they were co-authors but did not write the manuscripts.
Far more disturbing, however, is what we found buried in the middle of the USA Today story. According to a study conducted by the federal Office of Research Integrity, about 3% of researchers observed scientific misconduct each year, consisting not only of plagiarism but largely of faked data.
We suspect that such misconduct is far more prevalent than 3% because some of it is never discovered or reported. We also suspect that it occurs more often when scientists are trying to prove a point on such controversial topics as evolution and global warming.
For instance, last November, the “Prison Planet” website reported: “Climate scientists allied with the IPCC (the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) have been caught citing fake data to make the case that global warming is accelerating.” According to the article, “The data produced by NASA to make the claim, and in particular temperature records covering large areas of Russia, was merely carried over from the previous month.”
And who can forget Piltdown Man - a fake that fooled an entire generation!

It isn’t very often that we give our readers the address of a website that supports evolution. But we’re doing so now because this website lists hundreds of churches and synagogues throughout the nation that were scheduled to participate in this past weekend’s 2009 Evolution Weekend: http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/rel_evolution_weekend_2009.htm
Why are we doing this? First of all, so you’ll know which congregations prefer the teachings of Darwin over the plain teachings of Scripture. If these congregations have rejected the Genesis account of creation, we wonder what other Bible doctrines they will abandon next. The virgin birth? The substitutionary death of Christ on the cross? The resurrection? The deity of Christ? Sadly, some of the congregations on the list have rejected these Bible doctrines already.
There’s another reason why we’re providing this list. We’re asking you to pray for these congregations and those who attend them. And pray especially that the leaders of these congregations awaken to the truth found in the very first verse of the Bible: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

Today’s the day that evolutionists and atheists have been waiting for - Charles Darwin’s 200th birthday. The official celebration website (darwinday.org) lists 641 events in 42 countries. Events range from “Evolutionpalooza!” at the San Francisco Main Branch Public Library to an all-day reading of Darwin’s On the Origin of Species at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, a secular group in Grand Junction, Colorado, is observing the birth of their patron saint with billboards urging people to “Evolve Beyond Belief.” The Freedom from Religion Foundation placed “Praise Darwin” billboards in Grand Junction, Dayton (TN), Dover (PA) and Whitehall (OH).
If anyone reading this still believes there is no connection between evolution and atheism, they are simply unaware of the facts or they are not thinking clearly. Ironic, isn’t it, that the “Praise Darwin” billboards provide additional evidence that Darwinism is a religion that tells its followers: “There is no God? Ironic, too, that the secular group in Colorado is urging people to “Evolve Beyond Belief.” In other words, they’re urging people to discard their belief in God and BELIEVE what their group believes - that there is no God.
Though they don’t realize it, most arguments that atheists use to persuade people to turn from God and religion end up showing that atheists have a religion of their own. And the man who was born 200 years ago today was their “Moses” who liberated them from what they felt was the bondage of true faith. In reality, Darwin brought bondage to a faulty belief system that should have been discarded many years ago.

Have you ever heard evolutionists brashly claim that all legitimate scientists believe in evolution? Actually, this is one of their favorite things to say, thinking that this will instantly silence creationists. The fact is - some of the greatest scientists who ever lived believed in biblical creation.
For instance, James Clerk Maxwell was a Bible-believer who developed complex theoretical and mathematical explanations for all the forces in the universe except gravity and nuclear forces. Albert Einstein said that Maxwell made greater contributions to physics than anyone except Isaac Newton. Read the rest of this entry »

Recently a friend of Creation Moments wisely observed: “Sadly, most Christians are not interested in the creation vs. evolution issue. Atheists, on the other hand, know what is at stake, so they invest a lot of time in defending their religion.”
Are the people in your church aware that evolution is, in fact, a “religion” that promotes atheism? If not, perhaps God is calling on YOU to wake them up to its dangers. After all, you know what is at stake, and the Lord may be asking you to sound the alarm. Read the rest of this entry »
