Recently a friend of Creation Moments wisely observed: “Sadly, most Christians are not interested in the creation vs. evolution issue. Atheists, on the other hand, know what is at stake, so they invest a lot of time in defending their religion.”

Are the people in your church aware that evolution is, in fact, a “religion” that promotes atheism? If not, perhaps God is calling on YOU to wake them up to its dangers. After all, you know what is at stake, and the Lord may be asking you to sound the alarm. (more…)

We find it very interesting that President Obama’s inaugural address today included the words: “All men are equal.” Notice anything missing? Obviously he was quoting the best-known phrase in any of America’s political documents, the Declaration of Independence, in which Thomas Jefferson penned these immortal words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”

This phrase was so powerful, Abraham Lincoln used it in what is arguably the most well-written speech ever delivered by a US President - the Gettysburg Address. Notice that he used the phrase exactly as it appeared in the Declaration of Independence: “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

Even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used the phrase in his most famous and enduring speech: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’”

So why, we ask, did President Obama leave out the word “created”? Was it an accidental omission? No, it was deliberate. For a speech as important as an inaugural address, every word is carefully chosen. What this clearly means is that our new head of state believes that God as Creator is an antiquated belief and must be ignored.

How very clever that environmentalists have changed “global warming” to “climate change.” This way, they can count on receiving taxpayer money even if the earth is found to be cooling down. As Barack Obama is sworn into office today, we expect that more taxpayer money will be spent to control climate change.

After all, he has selected key advisers who believe strong action is needed to address climate change. In addition to Steven Chu (a climate-change technology advocate) as the next secretary of Energy, he selected Harvard’s John Holdren (a climate and energy expert) as his science adviser and marine biologist Jane Lubchenco to head up the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

We also expect that more taxpayer money will be spent to teach evolution to our kids. As this blog reported previously, Obama believes that evolution alone should be taught in public schools. He told the York Daily Record last August, “I think it’s a mistake to try to cloud the teaching of science with theories that frankly don’t hold up to scientific inquiry.”

So as our new president places his hand on the Bible today and takes the oath of office, we will certainly heed the Bible’s instruction to pray for him. However, we will also be praying specifically that President Obama discovers he’s on the wrong side of both climate change and evolution.

Imagine that you’re taking a tour of the SETI Institute when a transmission arrives from a star system many light-years from earth: “Greetings, Earthlings.” Imagine the uproar, the sound of corks popping out of champagne bottles, the cheers, the hugs and the high-fives.

Now imagine that you interrupt the celebration by saying: “Excuse me, but how do you know for sure you’ve found signs of extraterrestrial life? Maybe this only appears to be a message. After all, don’t you agree with Richard Dawkins that ‘biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose’?”

It’s not difficult to imagine what would happen next. Two security guards come out of the shadows, grab your arms and march you out of the building.

The point we’re trying to make in this scenario is that most scientists aren’t really searching for the truth. They’re looking for evidence to support their evolutionary presuppositions. So get it out of your mind that scientists are objective truth-seekers in white lab coats. They have an agenda - to get rid of God in any way they can.

We can only imagine what SETI scientists would do if the complete message said: “Greetings, Earthlings - this is God.” We have no doubt they would start searching for the joker who was playing a trick on them.

Have you ever marveled at the instinctual behaviors of animals? How do birds and butterflies know where (and when) to migrate? How do creatures with hardly a brain at all - like the lowly worm - know how to accomplish tasks they were never taught? Ask an evolutionist, and they’ll tell you that instincts are merely favorable traits that are passed on because they improve the animal’s ability to survive. But evolutionists can’t begin to explain where instincts came from in the first place. Harry Moore, a friend of Creation Moments, recently shared his thoughts with us:

God created all the animals with the instinct to survive and the instinct to take care of their offspring. For instance, the dirt dobber wasp will paralyze several spiders so that the wasp offspring will have a fresh meal to eat. Amazingly, the spider will just stand there and let the wasp sting it!
