Author Dr. John B Mulder

Little doubt exists over the fact that we live in a wonderful and complex universe. Plants, animals, humans, and even the vast array of planets in our enormous solar system, function together in a precise, regulated manner. How did this all come about? Obviously, this didn't just happen by chance but resulted from the oversight of a divine Creator. God fashioned everything we see, or cannot see, in our immense universe. Further, He created everything in a sensible sequence. Thus, each day of creation produced exactly what was needed for creative acts that would continue the following days. Creation's Sensible Sequence documents these well-planned creative acts as performed by our omnipotent God.

A Creation Science Perspective on the News

Welcome to the Creation Moments blog - MOMENTUM. As friends of this ministry know, creation science is picking up momentum around the world. This blog is for them as well as for everyone who is willing to follow the evidence no matter where it may lead. Controversial, thought-provoking, sometimes outrageous but always interesting, MOMENTUM will bring you news and commentary from the front lines of the creation science vs. evolution battleground.

This blog will be updated frequently, so come back often! Questions? Feedback? Comments? Send them to Momentum@creationmoments.com.

“All Men Are (Blank) Equal”

We find it very interesting that President Obama’s inaugural address today included the words: “All men are equal.” Notice anything missing? Obviously he was quoting the best-known phrase in any of America’s political documents, the Declaration of Independence, in which Thomas Jefferson penned these immortal words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”

This phrase was so powerful, Abraham Lincoln used it in what is arguably the most well-written speech ever delivered by a US President - the Gettysburg Address. Notice that he used the phrase exactly as it appeared in the Declaration of Independence: “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”

Even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. used the phrase in his most famous and enduring speech: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.’”

So why, we ask, did President Obama leave out the word “created”? Was it an accidental omission? No, it was deliberate. For a speech as important as an inaugural address, every word is carefully chosen. What this clearly means is that our new head of state believes that God as Creator is an antiquated belief and must be ignored.

Creation Moments is not affiliated with and does not endorse any political party. The sole intent of the Momentum blog is to speak out on issues and current events related to biblical creation and the biblical worldview.

  1. JC Lamont Says:

Hmmm. Very interesting. I personally didn’t watch it, but what he said, or didn’t say, is a shame. Historical, even.

  2. John Doe Says:

Way to whine about a non-issue.

  3. A Rational Person Says:

Possibly the biggest leap in false reasoning I have ever seen.

That being said, I can only hope your conspiracy theory turns out to be true and that Obama is an atheist.

Finally some recognition for the non-believers. 16% of the population of the US deserves some concessions.

  4. Reason & Logic Says:

Why would he still use ‘created’ there is no evidence what’s so-ever for creation. Thank God the new President has got a brain and is able to recognize the importance of science and more importantly recognizes the nonsense that creationism holds some ground in America because of the likes of Bush and his ancient beliefs that where debunked 150 years earlier.

You have a right to believe in whatever hocus pocus you want to believe in, don’t force that non-sense on the rest of us.

  5. creationmoments Says:

We’re glad to see evolutionists and atheists here! Welcome! Perhaps you can learn a few things about what’s really true by reading some of the articles in our Articles library.

  6. Smart Person Says:

Are you serious??? Read his book, “The Audacity of Hope.” In the preface he blatantly states “I believe in evolution.” He is a very intelligent man. Stop nit-picking with your stupid, irrelevant arguments.

The world is moving on, and leaving “creationists” behind… finally.

  7. creationmoments Says:

Won’t you show us how smart you really are, Smart Person, by telling us why you believe in evolution? Is it because you’re an atheist or because you have even a shred of scientific evidence? If it’s the latter, we’d really like to hear what it is.

  8. Mats Says:

    Rational Person said:

You mean, apart from government schools that teach your religion, Hollywood, which makes movies glorifying your way of life, 99% of all major newspapers, who slant to your side of the story, museums, which show the fossils you think support your creation myth, Tv, which has programs “for kids” which attack conservative and Christian values, and universities, which are dominated by liberal professors? All those concessions are not enough, Mr. “Rational Person”?

  9. Jeff T Says:

I agree that President Obama carefully chose each word of his inaugural address; therefore, the word “created” was deliberately omitted. The word “created” implies the Creator, which is explicitly implied in our Declaration of Independence. God’s WORD is also explicit about His being the Creator of you and me, the “created” - see Psalm 139. Given Obama’s stance on abortion, or when life begins (see Rick Warren interview), he doesn’t want to be aligned with this world view… a world sovereignly controlled by a Creator God that will one day hold him, and our nation, accountable for the shedding of innocent blood (aborted babies formed in the womb by Him and in His image).

  10. nameless Says:

evolution is proved simply by the FACT that there are random mutations in the genome. i am certain that a vast majority of the people on this site, including the atheists, do not understand the mechanisms of evolution and if you don’t truly understand how it occurs than a logic person would view it as ridiculous.

  11. creationmoments Says:

Come on, Nameless - is that the best you’ve got? We want to thank you for your comment because it shows how pitiful the arguments are in support of evolution. It’s no more valid than the evolutionist who says the best evidence for evolution is that everyone has parents. It proves absolutely nothing.

  12. April Says:

Yes, the omission of all men were CREATED was deliberate. It’s because many leaders of this nation want to deny that God is the one who gave us our liberty in the first place.

Gotta say here that hocus pocus is being practiced by evolutionists, not creationists. Evolutionists say everything got here somehow and by chance developed into sense and order. It’s a lot of hesto presto, waving of the magic wand of millions of years, to create some fantastic results. Hey, magic is more believable! Meanwhile, creationists point out that order and design require thought and action. The more complex the design, the more intelligence is required to produce it. That’s real observable science. That’s factual.

Evolution is proved by random mutations in the genome? This is testable. Randomness creates chaos, not order. Let’s randomly run around without a plan or direction and see how much good evolves from that.
