MOMENTUM

A Creation Science Perspective on the News

Welcome to the Creation Moments blog - MOMENTUM. As friends of this ministry know, creation science is picking up momentum around the world. This blog is for them as well as for everyone who is willing to follow the evidence no matter where it may lead. Controversial, thought-provoking, sometimes outrageous but always interesting, MOMENTUM will bring you news and commentary from the front lines of the creation science vs. evolution battleground.

This blog will be updated frequently, so come back often! Questions? Feedback? Comments? Send them to Momentum@creationmoments.com.

“Darwinian beliefs … make for a bad society.” – Richard Dawkins

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Yesterday we watched an excellent video on YouTube … but we’re not going to suggest that you watch it. In this video, atheist Richard Dawkins interviews a Christian creationist who successfully debates the issues with Dawkins for over an hour. Why, then, aren’t we identifying the video so you can watch it? Because hundreds of comments have been posted by atheists who mercilessly attack the interviewee and use every four-letter word in the book to describe the vile and violent acts they’d like to do to her. The comments are horrific - beyond anything we ever expected to see.

But WHY should we not have expected to see something like this? After all, the godless philosophy of evolution leads inevitably to a society made up of people like this - unloving, unwise, vile, violent and vicious people who have no sense of right and wrong. As Dawkins himself confessed toward the end of the interview, “I agree with you that Darwinian beliefs would not make for a good society. I’ve said that they’ll make for a bad society.”

At last - something that Dawkins has said that we can agree with! The contemptible comments made by atheists on YouTube is just one more example of how vicious our culture is becoming, thanks, in part, to godless evolution. Atheism, of course, is nothing new. But because of evolution, atheism is now respectable and growing like a deadly cancer.

In the world that atheists envision - a world without God - there can be no morality or objective “right and wrong.” There’s only one rule - survival of the fittest. Creation Moments believes that the days of worldwide Christian persecution and even martyrdom are near at hand. And that’s why we believe it’s more important than ever to seek God’s favor and stand strong for the Bible, biblical creation and the Gospel!

Sound the Alarm!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Recently a friend of Creation Moments wisely observed: “Sadly, most Christians are not interested in the creation vs. evolution issue. Atheists, on the other hand, know what is at stake, so they invest a lot of time in defending their religion.”

Are the people in your church aware that evolution is, in fact, a “religion” that promotes atheism? If not, perhaps God is calling on YOU to wake them up to its dangers. After all, you know what is at stake, and the Lord may be asking you to sound the alarm. (more…)

Where Do Instincts Come From?

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Have you ever marveled at the instinctual behaviors of animals? How do birds and butterflies know where (and when) to migrate? How do creatures with hardly a brain at all - like the lowly worm - know how to accomplish tasks they were never taught? Ask an evolutionist, and they’ll tell you that instincts are merely favorable traits that are passed on because they improve the animal’s ability to survive. But evolutionists can’t begin to explain where instincts came from in the first place. Harry Moore, a friend of Creation Moments, recently shared his thoughts with us:

God created all the animals with the instinct to survive and the instinct to take care of their offspring. For instance, the dirt dobber wasp will paralyze several spiders so that the wasp offspring will have a fresh meal to eat. Amazingly, the spider will just stand there and let the wasp sting it! “We’re Smarter Now and Don’t Need a God”

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

For evolutionists, 2009 is a special year of celebration. Not only does 2009 mark the 200th birthday of Charles Darwin, it represents the 150th anniversary of Darwin’s On the Origin of Species. It’s important to remember, though, that this is not just about science. As the science establishment celebrates the life and achievements of Darwin, they are also rejoicing because they believe that evolution delivered the death-blow to God.

Though most evolutionists fully understand this, many Christians still don’t realize that Darwinism and atheism are inextricably intertwined. One of our website visitors summed up the issue quite well in the following e-mail:

“I was struck by your desperate efforts to involve the bible in the debate as if it had some kind of relevance to historical fact and theory. The bible was written by men partly to explain his own origins - now that we’re smarter, we don’t need to refer back to a less knowledgeable time. Please, think for yourselves by looking at and understanding the world around you - we don’t need a god.”

That’s why the battle between creation and evolution is so important and why a ministry like Creation Moments is so vital at a time like this. As the Year of Darwin gets underway, get ready to be bombarded with new TV specials and magazine articles praising the name of Darwin. Help your kids learn how to resist the evolutionary indoctrination they’ll receive at school. And bookmark our website, so you and your family can see where the scientific and historical evidence really points.

Is Richard Dawkins Wicked?

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

“It is absolutely safe to say that if you meet somebody who claims not to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, but I’d rather not consider that).” - Richard Dawkins (The Blind Watchmaker)

This famous quote from one of the world’s leading atheists makes a lot more sense with a few words changed: “It is absolutely safe to say that if you meet somebody who claims to believe in evolution, that person is ignorant, stupid or insane (or wicked, and that’s the most likely explanation).”

Are evolutionists ignorant, stupid or insane? Many are ignorant because they’ve never examined the evidence in favor of creationism and contrary to evolution. Others must be stupid because they’ve never actually thought about the scientific flaws of evolution. And still others show signs of being insane when they look at the complexities of DNA or the eye or the process involved in the clotting of blood and just keep repeating over and over, “It only appears to be designed. It only appears to be designed.”

But the main reason why so many atheists like Dawkins believe in evolution is because they are just plain wicked … or, as the Bible calls them, unrighteous. Romans 1:18-19: “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness, suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.”

Up a Crick Without a Paddle

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Today’s Creation Moment - “The World’s Smallest Computer” - reminds us of the two men who discovered the “DNA computer” back in 1953. When James Watson and Francis Crick discovered the double-helix DNA molecule, it was the best of times and the worst of times for Dr. Crick. Though he enjoyed his worldwide celebrity status, how was he to explain the incredible amount of information encoded in the strands of DNA? A self-described agnostic with “a strong inclination towards atheism,” it was inconceivable to Crick that an intelligent Creator had anything to do with it.

So he resurrected a nifty little idea from the eighteenth century called “panspermia” - a hypothesis that seeds of life exist all over the universe. He postulated that one or more of those seeds hitchhiked a ride to earth on a comet, giving rise to life on our planet. (No, we’re not making this up.)

Of course, panspermia doesn’t even begin to explain how those seeds of life came to be. It just enabled Crick to sidestep the issue and avoid the obvious - that information-laden DNA molecules are far too complex to have arisen by chance and undirected processes.

No “seeds” have ever been found anywhere in the universe. Though panspermia is nothing but pure speculation, Crick’s belief in it underscores the fact that so many scientists today - including evolutionary biologists with their “goo to you” just-so stories - are willing to believe in anything … anything other than God.

Those are our thoughts. What are yours?
