Help! I’m Being Sent to Siberia for Two Weeks of Hard Labor!
An amazing opportunity has opened up. I have been invited to Tyumen, Russia (Western Siberia) the first two weeks in March to teach biblical creation at several universities and churches.
Tyumen, considered a university city, is in Western Siberia on the river Tura which flows into the river Tobol. It is 1,340 miles (2,144 km) from Moscow, and it has a population of about 600,000, many of whom are students at the universities. Tyumen was the first Russian city established in Siberia. The weather in March will be 20 degrees F during the day, dropping to zero at night.
International Commission is hosting the trip. There will be 14 going from the States. Most will be going to Surgut, Russia (also in Siberia) to do door-to-door evangelism. A smaller group, myself included, will be going to Tyumen. I will be teaching creation in the universities during the day and possibly speaking at night to local church congregations. Probably one or two others from the team will be traveling with me to assist as needed.
I have been told the people in Western Siberia are warm and welcoming once they see your personal side. The older churches are orthodox Christians. Like universities in America, students are only taught evolution. This is a wonderful opportunity to share with them the truth about biblical creation and our loving God.
Will you partner with me in this effort? First, please be in prayer about the trip. I need God’s wisdom in knowing what to present and how to present it that will not only glorify Him but open the minds and hearts of the students to God’s truth.
