Genesis 4:21-22
“And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.”

Some of you will remember the book Chariots of the Gods that was such a hit in the 1980s. Though its author wasn’t the first or the last to write about “ancient astronauts”, Erich Von Däniken popularized the notion that aliens from other worlds had come to our planet eons ago. These alien beings supposedly left traces of their visits all over the world – from the pyramids of Egypt to the Nazca lines in southern Peru.

Neither does mainstream science. However, we believe that Darwinian evolution helped to make the ancient-astronauts theory somewhat credible. After all, evolutionists tell us that ancient man slowly evolved upwards. For most of mankind’s history, we were supposedly little more than brute beasts, lacking both intelligence and technology. With this in mind, science was unable to explain the many out-of-place artifacts that Von Däniken wrote about in his books.

The Bible, however, tells us that mankind – going all the way back to the first man – has always been intelligent and technologically savvy. In fact, while Adam was still alive, his grandkids were already fashioning things out of brass and iron and making musical instruments.

It was the rejection of biblical truth that made it impossible for scientists to explain ancient technologies and out-of-place artifacts we’ve told you about on other Creation Moments programs. Perhaps if scientists had believed the Bible, the notion of ancient astronauts from outer space would never have taken off.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, the next time I’m asked if I believe in extraterrestrials, I will tell them I believe that Your Son came to our planet to provide salvation for Earthlings like me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
