Psalm 59:8
“But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.”

According to evolutionary theory, humans had a common ancestor with chickens 300 million years ago. Much more recently in evolutionary time, we had a common ancestor with the mouse. One would then be led to conclude that, in evolutionary terms, we are genetically closer to the mouse than to the chicken. Of course, we must stress that we at Creation Moments have good reasons to reject all those multiple millions of years.

Researchers often find that the long-supposed evolutionary relationships are contradicted by the genetic information. Recent research compared the gene segments of chickens, mice and people. If evolution were true, one would expect more similarities between the genetic segments of mice and humans. To their amazement, researchers found that, of mice and chickens, we share more common genetic segments with chickens! They tried to explain this result by saying that perhaps mouse segments change more rapidly than human or chicken segments.

Again, new genetic knowledge has challenged evolutionary assumptions. Once we know what those genetic segments that were studied do, we might understand why these similarities exist. We predict that such knowledge will glorify our Creator’s wise design.

Prayer:
Lord, help me see more clearly how new knowledge glorifies You. Amen.
