Psalm 8:4-5

“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.”

There are constant changes to the dates given for human evolution. That is why articles on human evolution often use phrases such as “This has changed the way we think about human evolution!”

In another Creation Moment, we commented on evolutionists’ ideas that so-called modern humans, migrating out of Africa, had met with neanderthals and interbred with them at earlier dates than they previously thought. We commented that these two groups were actually both full humans, and failure to consider neanderthals in that way was actually akin to certain racist ideas.

Many creationists at the time thought that this would lead to evolutionary “discoveries” that would put the Out-of-Africa migration to an earlier date. And, lo and behold, a recent international study, led by Tel Aviv University, has done just that.

This recent study focuses on some human remains found in the Misliya Cave in Israel. A human jawbone has been found. Dating methods have suggested that the jaw is between 175,000 and 194,000 years old. Smart mathematicians will realize that this gives a margin of error of 11% – much higher than should occur with real science experiments. Nevertheless, the ScienceDaily website suggests that this is 40,000 years older than the previous oldest human remain found outside Africa.

That this discovery should be made now is not a surprise. Moreover, the dating of these remains, as with other bones, is highly presuppositional. It seems that evolutionists wanted an earlier date than they had, so they have now achieved it. But neither date makes sense in the light of the chronology of the Bible.     Author: Paul F. Taylor

Prayer: When we consider human beings, Lord, we know that we were made by You to serve You and to give glory to Your name. Amen.
